RPG / CASE STUDY 01
BUILDING NOTICE &
COUNCIL ORDER REMEDIATION
Structural remediation and compliance management for a CBD building with basement retention defects.
Royce Projects Group was engaged to manage a complex remediation project after a commercial building was issued with a building notice relating to structural defects in the basement. This anonymised case study shows how RPG coordinated investigation, consultant input, procurement and delivery to restore compliance and reduce long-term asset risk.

Royce Projects Group was engaged to manage a complex remediation project after a commercial building was issued with a building notice relating to structural defects in the basement. This anonymised case study shows how RPG coordinated investigation, consultant input, procurement and delivery to restore compliance and reduce long-term asset risk.
-
Council notice addressed through a defined remediation pathway
Structural risk reduced through targeted investigation and rectification
Design and construction managed under one coordinated delivery strategy
Long-term asset protection improved
-
The building owner needed more than a structural report. The project required a practical pathway to
satisfy council, identify the root cause of movement and deliver rectification works that were
technically sound and commercially manageable.
-
RPG coordinated detailed investigations into the basement retention system, engaged structural
engineers and worked with specialist consultants to confirm the defect mechanism. Once the scope was
clear, we developed the remediation pathway, managed procurement and oversaw contractor engagement so
the works could move from compliance risk to structured delivery.
-
The project was reframed from a reactive compliance issue into a controlled remediation programme.
Council concerns were addressed, the structural risk position improved and the owner gained a
practical long-term solution.
